Courses of the AGOGE FOUNDATION
AGOGE FOUNDATION aims to offer distance learning courses, with maximum one year duration, in Classical Studies.
Everybody, around the world, who is interested to learn about the Greek History and Culture will have the opportunity to attend these courses, which are designed according to the career orientation and scientific needs of the candidates, their interest in knowledge and the educational policy of AGOGE.
AGOGE FOUNDATION’s courses cover the following thematic areas:
- Greek philosophy,
- Greek Mythology,
- Theatre – Arts,
- Architecture,
- Olympic games
- Tourism (Ancient and Modern)
The courses are delivered online (e-learning), structured in two semesters, one in winter and one in spring and are open to all people that have an interest to learn about the culture and history of ancient Greece. Also they include the acquisition of practical experience through short term placements in important historical and cultural sites of Greece (four weeks duration).
AGOGE implements of an interactive online educational model with available sources of knowledge, instructions and videos from the Professors and interaction between Professors and Learners.
The courses are designed according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) approach, in order to be ready by this way for the adoption of a relative certification process at a later phase.
Important principles for the design of the courses:
- Open to anyone, anywhere,
- Practical and for use in real life,
- Promotion of ancient culture and its integration into our everyday life through educational activities,
- Combine cultural education with tourism.
